Soul Lift is free. Premium opens the rest.

The free tier is a complete daily practice, not a demonstration of one — a new affirmation every morning, your own writing, the widgets, the reminders and the streak, with no account and no ads. Premium opens the whole library for US$1.25 a month on the annual plan.

The Soul Lift home screen on iPhone: the affirmation "I trust myself to make the right decisions" over an aurora photograph, with the guided session and theme controls beneath it.

How much Soul Lift Premium costs

Three billing periods, one Premium. Every plan opens exactly the same thing and every plan starts with 3 days free — the only difference is how often you are billed. Pick one to see how it compares below.

What each plan works out at

The same thing, priced three ways. A year is the only span all three divide into, so that is what they are compared on — and the saving is measured against the most expensive way to buy it, rather than against a “usual price” we made up.

Prices in US dollars. Savings are against a year bought weekly. Scroll sideways for the last columns.

Plan You pay Per month Per year You save
Weekly US$0.99 a week US$4.29 US$51.48
Monthly US$2.99 a month US$2.99 US$35.88 US$15.60 (30%)
Annual US$14.99 a year US$1.25 US$14.99 US$36.49 (71%)

Against the monthly plan alone, a year of Annual is US$20.89 less — 58% off, which is why it is the one we would pick.

What is free, and what Premium opens

Most of Soul Lift is free and stays free. Everything a subscription opens is in the right-hand column, and nothing else in the app is behind it.

A look at the app

Real screens, not mock-ups — one thing a subscription opens, one that never needs one, and one on your wrist.

Eight of the 108 Home backgrounds in Soul Lift, side by side: a nebula, an aurora over pines, a turquoise coastline, a lavender field, a forest, Santorini at dusk, sand dunes and a crescent moon.
Premium

All 108 backgrounds

Or your own photo, framed how you like it. Every one is scrimmed against the words that sit on it, so the affirmation stays readable rather than being left to chance.

Three Soul Lift widgets on an iPhone Home Screen: a streak widget showing 30 days and a week of ticks, and two affirmation widgets reading “I am worth the care I give” and “Today, I begin again”.
Free on both tiers

On your Home and Lock Screen

Widgets in four sizes, so the line is there before you have opened anything — and a streak widget that shows the week at a glance. The affirmation turns over at the same moment it does in the app.

On your wrist

The Apple Watch app carries its own copy of the library, so it works with your phone out of range.

Before you subscribe

Four things worth knowing, including the one most apps in this category leave out.

Start on the free tier, honestly

A daily habit is built by turning up, not by owning more of the library. Give the free tier a fortnight first — if you find yourself wanting a topic it does not have, that is a much better reason to subscribe than a discount is.

It works better for some people than others

The published evidence points to small but reasonably consistent effects, and it shows that a statement far from what you currently believe can leave you feeling worse. That is the whole reason these 5,600 lines are written to be plausible rather than grand. What the research actually says.

Cancelling takes four taps

Apple bills the subscription and Apple cancels it, in your iPhone’s Settings under your Apple ID. We never see your card, there is no retention flow, and cancelling before the trial ends costs nothing.

Neither tier costs you anything else

No ads on either plan, nothing sold to anybody, and the app works with no account at all. What happens to your information is written out in full on the privacy page, and the terms say plainly that this is not therapy and does not treat anything.

Pricing questions

Is Soul Lift free?

Yes. Downloading it costs nothing, it needs no account, and the free tier is a complete daily practice rather than a demonstration of one — a new affirmation every morning drawn from 6 topics, the affirmations you write yourself, favourites, Home and Lock Screen widgets, daily reminders and the streak. There are no ads on either tier.

How much does Soul Lift Premium cost?

US$14.99 a year, which works out at US$1.25 a month and is the plan we would pick. There is also US$2.99 a month and US$0.99 a week. Every plan starts with a 3-day free trial, and all three open exactly the same thing.

Do I have to subscribe to use it?

No, and nothing nags you to. Premium opens five things — all 112 topics, all 108 backgrounds and your own photos, all 23 guided sessions, the Apple Watch app and the alternative app icons. Everything else in the app is free and stays free.

What happens after the 3-day free trial?

Everything opens on the first day. We send a reminder the day before anything is charged, and if you cancel before then you pay nothing. If you do nothing, the plan you chose begins on day 3.

How do I cancel?

In your iPhone’s Settings, under your Apple ID, in Subscriptions. Apple bills the subscription and Apple cancels it, so there is nothing to email us about and no retention flow to sit through. We never see your card details.

Which currency will I be charged in?

Your own. The prices on this page are US dollars; the App Store shows and charges your local price, and Apple sets those from its own price tiers rather than by converting — so the figure in your currency will not be a straight exchange-rate conversion of the one here. In Australia, for instance, the annual plan is A$24.99. Check the price in the app before you subscribe.

Is one subscription enough for all my devices?

Yes. It is one entitlement tied to your account, so the iPhone app, the widgets and the Apple Watch app are all covered by the same subscription. Add an email and password and it follows you to a new phone.

Do affirmations actually work?

Sometimes, and modestly. The published evidence points to small but reasonably consistent effects rather than a transformation, and it is clearest on things measured in the moment. It also shows that a statement far from what you currently believe can leave you feeling worse rather than better, which is why the library here is written to be plausible and specific instead of grand. The research, and what we do and do not claim from it.

Is Soul Lift a substitute for therapy?

No. It is a place to practise a habit, it does not treat anything, and it is not a medical device. If something in your life needs more than a habit, it needs more than this app.

Anything else, email us — a person reads it. There is more in the help pages, and the story behind the app is here.

Start free. Decide later.

The free tier is a complete daily practice, not a demonstration of one.
